Price and Promotion Tracking For Chilled Ready-Made Meals
We conducted weekly conducted price and promotion tracking on behalf of a large chilled ready meals supplier
Objective
- Assosia have been commissioned by our client to conduct price and promotion tracking across Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, Asda and M&S.
- We are required to visit each of the 6 retailers on a weekly basis to monitor the chilled ready-made meals category.
Methodology
- Our field team visit each store covertly, monitoring prices & promotions across specified categories. All NPDs are captured during each visit as well as noting any de-listed SKUs.
- In addition, our field team also capture all finer detail from on-pack, including QUIDs, Suppliers and Barcodes to provide our client with a detailed overview of all products.
Outcome
- Providing this data on a weekly basis means that our client always has a current view of the market readily available, enabling them to react quickly to any changes introduced by other suppliers to ensure that they always remain competitive with their pricing, promotions, range and even meat content.
- The way the data is reported means that our client is able to monitor whole categories or drill down into individual products to ensure that they are always fully informed of the status of all Chilled Ready Meal products.
 Photographs
- Our field team take photographs during each visit to provide our client with a clear visual of how all competitors are merchandised at store-level. These include images of; full bay main fixtures, promotional locations, in-store theatre and close-ups of all NPD packaging.
